Makerere West Youth FC (MWYFC) was established on 3rd March 2011 with the aim of helping children children from Makerere West (a.k.a Kikoni) live more meaningful lives and to help them achieve their dreams through football, education and other life skills. The football club is run and managed by Giving Hope Foundation which is a registered not-for-profit organization based in Kampala, Uganda.
The club still needs support in terms of sports equipment, personnel and development of proper training facilities. We currently trained from a pitch of a local secondary school which is in bad shape due to flowing water, and it becomes very muddy whenever it rains. ALSO there is disruption from on-looking adults who are usually involved in acts of drugs abuse.
